Two weeks in a place you do not know comes down to two things: the person leading you, and whether you come home with photographs you could not have taken alone.
Thirty years behind a camera, several dozen expeditions led since 2003. I photograph people in places where access is difficult and consent is never automatic. That is also what I teach on these trips: how to approach somebody, how to ask, what to do when the answer is no.

Outside photography I am an interim manager, working with companies in crisis and under time pressure. That is where the part you do not notice comes from, until you need it: a quick decision when the road disappears, and calm when somebody falls ill three hundred kilometres from a hospital.
I lead my expeditions for Nathan Horton Photography. They handle the bookings and the organisation. I lead and teach.
Bookings and prices go through NHP. Write to me about photography, the tours themselves, or anything in the field notes.
